New & searching, dents

We have been searching the internet for a few months now looking for our first AS. We are enamored with the nostaligic look and the aerodynamics. However it seems that almost every one we look at had some dents. What is with that? Do they dent easy? Is it just part of the territory of owning an AS? Even those units that seemed well cared for and maintained and refurbished seem to have a few dents. How easy is it to dent the outer skin?
