Late '90s Models?

First time buyer, totally unknowledgable (dumb) about travel trailers. Looking to buy pre-owned, 90's.

Need to know what model AS's were made in the late 90's?

Were these models made with what one RV'er told me was the "new skin" that does not have corrosion/maintenance issues? (I read ones made from 2001 forward had some kind of spider web like issues with the clear coat).

What might a 25, 27-9 or 31 footer be worth used?

What do you mean when you say "widebody" or "traincar" model of AS?

Thanks,

Mike

Wide bodies were put into production in the Midel fo 1965 and are 6 inches wider than the previous models. They are also squarer and therefore have more head room over a larger area and more storage space in the overhead cabinets. They have a white roof, which makes them cooler in the summer sun. The quality of the paint systems have varied over the years due to problems in production when they went to the prepainted aluminum. Before that they were spray painted after they were assembled. Depending on the year and whether they were repainted by the factory, you will have to evaluate the individual unit. Clear coat paint (or any clear plastic) is effected by strong sunlight exposure and has a limited lifetime. Washington is a mild exposure so the finish should last a long time up there. Pick you size based on your usage. Small ones are great for caravaning and camping in smaller campgrounds. Large ones are good for longer term destination snowbird vacations.
