Is this filiform corrosion (photo attached)? Or something else?

Attached is a photo from a local dealer. It's a 2002 25' Safari on consignment (might belong to someone on here). Before I make the trip to inspect it in person, I was wondering if this is filiform corrosion or something else (soap residue from a hasty wash)? Maybe it's not even possible to tell from the photo. Opinions are welcome. Thanks for your help.

Hard to tell, even when blowing up the photo. I have a couple areas of filiform on the trailer and quite a bit on my wheels. Doesn't look like this, from what I can tell.

From viewing your picture, it looks like frost to me.

Not sure what it is but it isn't filiform. Filiform corrosion leaves much smaller tracks, and they typically are much more random in direction. The "head" of a filiform track is a small concentration cell that moves in a random pattern and may only cover an inch or two of surface area.

And filiform tracks never cross another track like those in your photo.

Upon Bluto's suggestion....it does look like frost. Where is it located?

I agree with "frost"...it looks like it's also on the windows. Can you ask the seller if it's frost?

Frost... Of course, that makes sense, it is located in MA. My mind was jumping to the worst case scenario after reading too many threads on here. Sometimes it's better not to know everything that can go wrong. I guess I'll make the drive and check it out in person. Thanks for the quick responses, everyone.

Did they use a clear coat finish on that year. Could it be clear coat deterioration you are seeing?
