I'm traveling down to Alamo, Texas (McAllen) on Sunday in hopes of purchasing a '70
Sovereign LY.
This is my first airstream, first travel trailer but not my first experience with mobile living. I spend many weekend's in Houston in a modern Motor Home.
I'm a more nostalgic type and the '70
Sovereign is great for what I'm looking for. I plan to live in her, but I'm not too concerned with everything functioning at a high level. I just don't want it to be a total junker. The things I'm most concerned about are the "guts", the pump, water heater, black water tanks, etc.
If the stove doesn't work, or the toilet, I' can deal with those kind of repairs and replacements. I'm actually okay with replacing some of the other things too, but I would just like to know what I'm getting into before I hand over a few thousand dollars.
Is there ANYONE in the SE Texas area that would be willing and available this Sunday to meet me in Alamo, Tx and take a look at this RV?
I've already searched the member forums and I can't find anyone closer than 150 miles from where I'll be.
I would really appreciate any help I can get.
If you want an introduction to why I'm heading off on this adventure, you can read my first thread here:
