How do we find an AS with twin beds in the back?

We are new to all of this but have the "bug" We prefer to find one with twin beds in the back so we can travel with the oxygen concentrator (will the wiring handle it?) Any way I don't want to be crawling over the concentrator in the middle of the aisle way on a frantic trip to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There are so many ads. Are there certain models that have the twins in the rear? We are looking in the 5-10,000 range. Cheaper would be better.

Yes there are models like that. They are called Center Bath Twin models. Mine is one, it is a 1974 31' Excella.
The VIN on the trailer has a lot of info

and for pre 1980

Hello and welcome. Look under "Classifieds" tab here. There are a lot more doubles and queens than there are twins, however they aren't all that rare. You just have to be persistent. There are several listed in the classifieds but they are nationwide so you'll want to pick one that is within reasonable driving distance.

Of course you can also visit the factory in Jackson Center - and do a factory tour. Even though new ones are out of of your desired price range, you could still get a general idea of what layout suits you best. RARELY Airstream will have a used one for sale. During the winter (NOW!) they look for work to keep their repair department busy. An old unit may be reapired and sold just to accomplish that goal. Talk to the manager in service to see if there is anything interesting in the works.

Also Airstream allows owners to store their units on the property over the winter. Every so often an older owner becomes disabled or dies - the factory people may know of a unit for sale for just that reason. Doesn't hurt to ask. There is a restorer in Helena Ohio... (having a Senior moment, the name escapes me) that has an inventory of older streams too.

Of course check with RV dealers... they generally don't like to take trades but if getting someone out of an old Airstream will get them into a new one??? They might refer a seller to you.

Paula

If you're interested in something in the 25 foot range, you could very easily find a Tradewind with mid-twins.

The bathrooms are either going to be center or rear of the trailer.
If the bathroom is in the center the bedroom will be in the rear and visey-versa.
If the bedroom is in the rear it could be twins or a full bed.
If the bathroom is in the rear the beds will be twin beds in the center, one on either side of the aisle.

Argosy

Unless you find an Argosy that is vintage which might have a rear bathroom with a bed on one side of the middle and a wardrobe/credenza kind of thing on the streetside.

Welcome fellow Ohioan! We hope you have fun searching these forums. We have some rallies coming up that you could have fun looking at others' trailers and floorplans. Take a look at the Rally Calendar. Ohio Airstreamers - informal forum for weekend camping - Page 4 - Airstream Forums
is a good thread for you to check for Ohioans camping around the state. And of course, Jackson Center is a great place to look at Airstreams.

Howdy and welcome to Airforum.com, CG! I'm sure that with a little patience, you'll find the trailer that suits your purpose.

Please do try there, Paula's right; there is usually a good selection of trailers on our Classifieds.

When you go there, be sure to log in again, using your same user name and password that you created to get on where we are right now.

Keep asking the questions, you will get all the answers you need.
