Found one !!!

After three months of searching day and night I finally found one advertised as a 30' Excella for $23,000 or so.

Should I send a cashiers check ?

Email sent to an ad.

Hello, is the price correct ? Do you have detailed pics ?

Thanks,

Rob

Sellers reply,

Thank you for your email. I still have it for sale but before i answer to your questions i`m afraid i have some "bad" news: i`m selling this because i am moving back home in Canada as i want to start a small business here with my family. I was born here, we lived in US for a while, tried a few things but didn`t worked out and decided to move back in Canada and try a small business here because after all there's no place like home. However, the point is that i am not in US right now and i can`t be there to make the transaction in person but this is not something to worry about because i will sell this with the help of The Global Garage Sale. They are the largest eBay selling service but it`s possible that you never heard of them if you don`t sell or buy often on the internet. Their website is www.globalgaragesale.net if you want to check the service out, you will not find the listing there because only the items sold through ebay are listed on their website, the items sold through other marketplaces are not listed on their website.
When i left in Canada, i left the item along with several other items in the Global Garage Sale custody so i can sell them even though i am not there, so if you are OK with this, just drop me an email and i will explain the rest of the transaction details. I just hope you are serious and really interested in this because i want to sell it A.S.A.P.
Thanks

Roger

Maybe a $100 to hold the trailer, but I would NEVER pay that much for a trailer I had not examined personally. Take someone who knows Airstreams with you if you possibly can. There are a lot of things you will overlook if you don't know what you are looking at. These "little" things get very expensive and time consuming to fix because the can really add up quickly. I did not pay much for my Trade Wind, but would have bargained for much less if I had been aware of all the problems that needed work.

good luck

Way too much detail for a straightforward transaction. Be very suspicious. Do not pay with a cashier's check as you can't put a stop payment on a cashier's check. Once you have checked everything out and are confident that the deal is real, use PayPal, which guarantees these types of transactions.

The risk is all on you. Once you have paid via a cashier's check, there is no come back if the guy takes off. He has very little risk, as you can't register the trailer until money changes hands and a bill of sale is issued. Be very careful here. Good luck

I, too, would be highly suspicious. I'm not saying that it is definitely not on the up-and-up, but there is a slight aroma of fish with this deal.

Proceed with caution please

Oh my goodness ... I would be very cautious and want to check out the trailer and the seller face-to-face.

The little pieces of possible credibility are what make some scams believeable.

Exclamation Scam!

This is a common very common scam for a lot of big ticket items. Be very suspisious of ANY 3rd party transaction unless the 3rd party is an RV dealer or distributor.

Google "globalgaragesale scam" if you need further proof.

Good luck,
Alex

If you want an Excella and have that much money to put in it - how about this one if you don't mind driving to Ohio.

Good thing you checked here before proceeding with the transaction. There are so many greedy evil people out there trying to take advantage of others.

Good luck in your search!

Robbie, watch out , I found a few A/S on craigslist that all had the same photo, when I asked for more info, I got the same reply you did, to contact a Global Shipper, make my check out to a 3rd party, etc. Its a big scam.

This is the ad the scammer has run for over a year on Craigslist in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin, somtimes he lists it at 5K, recently I saw his ad change to 30K.
Airstream Model International CCD/Bambi (Indianapolis)

I wonder how much dough he has made doing this?

Do you have a particular range of years you're looking for? I'm sure having a bunch of other eyes looking out for you wouldn't hurt...
