Changes to the orginal floorplan on a new order?

Yesterday we put a deposit down on an order for 30 ft International with a few requests to change up the floorplan to work better for our family. We are waiting to hear back from the factory if these changes are possible. Anyone have experience with any changes to your floorplan?

Were you given a quote for these changes? Even though they officially will not make certain changes I was given the impression when I visited Jackson Center that almost anything is possible for the right amount of $$$$$$.

Yes they did charge us a "Deviation Fee"... crossing my fingers it works out. We are planning on living fulltime with 3 kids for the next couple of years while husband travels around the states for works. Needs to fit our family

I have a 2010 FC,FB Queen that I wanted converted to twin. I asked JC for a $ and was quoted $7000.00. This was in 2012. I had it done by a local cabinet maker for $1500. No, I don't have the outside access doors but I can get access through the inside

Want to do the same to my 2008 Classic 25fb. Do you have any photos to share on the conversion?

Thanks

Kelvin

We paid an up-charge to have our 2015 Eddie Bauer 27' produced with twin beds instead of the queen, specifying no half cabinets at the foot of the beds, and with special requests for the center table laminate surface and the placement of extra USB ports. Everything came out great, no hassle, except the process of writing the check! 😂 Joe

We asked if they would put the recliner chair option in our 25 during assembly and they could not. Two years later we took it back to the Airstream Service Center ($4,000 parts, material, labor) where they can do anything.

So you may have to go this route; also a good chance to try things out and make sure your proposed changes will actually work for you, or you may want to alter the original idea.

Sadly they were unable to accommodate our changes. So looking at a new option. I figure paying 120,000 we better be getting everything we want. So looking at getting an older airstream and putting in everything we want. A lot more work on our end but I think we will be happier in the end.
