Best time of year to buy?

Is there a consensus on this?

From what I've pieced together from a couple older postings, it seems like winter is a good time, or whenever the new models start arriving and the old ones are taking up space--not sure when that is exactly.

The best time is now. It just depends on what and where your looking at. Do a search on RVTrader and see who has the best price. There are some 2012 models out there and maybe a great deal.

Just purchased a 2012 International Serenity today. If you wait much longer the RV shows start and demand will pickup.

Congratulations, Jim, on your purchase of your 2012 International Serenity!

For us, the day before Thanksgiving, 2006, was the best time to place our custom order for our 2007 23' Safari with two solar panels and full awning package (3 awnings) through the Airstream Dealer, Southwest Coaches, Irvine, CA.

In my opinion, the end of the "typical camping season" in most of the states and just before the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas is the best time to buy.

But for us in Southern California, this is the real beginning of our camping season!

SilverGate, thanks. Very nice looking combo you have there. I think you make a very good point location dictates many of the factors which determine the best time of year to buy.

When the price is down on the new unit and the price is up on your trade in AND you don't need to go see the banker to finance ...

Thanks everyone. I was kinda thinking the time is now for my area.

I'm in Washington, DC and considering a Flying Cloud or International CCD 23 or 25 FB, leaning towards the 25. There seem to be a couple good deals on RV trader at the moment. One in NJ and one in FL.

Will look at the local place (Safford RV in Thornburg, VA) tomorrow and see about a FL visit next week--as luck would have it I'll be down there, just 12 miles away for a photo shoot so that might be a sign!

Would prefer to buy local but can't put the cart before the horse at this point. Determined to do this right. <rolls eyes to himself>

Do you already own a tow vehicle? Or buying one once you buy the AS? Take your time and the right Airstream will find you.

No, I don't own a tow vehicle yet. Figured I'd get the trailer first and then decide. I've got a couple in mind.

The thing about being patient is that I worry about passing up a good deal in service of 'patience'. You know how many of my coupons expire because I wait for tasty junk food to go on sale just to get extra savings?

We found a good deal on a 2012 Intl Signature 25FB in Dover, FL. The NJ dealer has some good prices on 12s as well, just not the model we wanted when we were ready to buy. The VA dealer is another story... Message me and I can fill you in on what I saw when I was looking.
