Airstream lengths and dimensions

Hi, Can anyone help!? When they say 29', is this the total length of an Airstream from bumper to ball hitch or the body and if body where are the measurements taken from ? Does anyone have the actual lengths of the bodies of the 27', 28', 29' ?

In general, yes, bumper to ball is the length. Mostly you can figure the actual body of the trailer is 3' shorter than the stated length.

Now there are lots of "fudges" when AS wanted to call something say a 27' and it in fact was longer than that, so don't get too literal. The serial number generally tells you the "official" factory length. Some one else can chime in here as to how to read the SN's.

Thanks !!The reason I ask is because over here in UK the maximum body length (not total length) if towing vehicle weighs less than 3.5 ton then maximum length of the body has to be 23' .

Here's a link to one model sold in the UK and lists the particular dimensions. There should be similar pages for the other models currently available.

Thanks all, so generally speaking add another foot, I wonder if this is the case with older models/all years as I would like to purchase a vintage model
