Airstream I'm thinking of purchasing

Just uploaded photos of a 68 overlander I'm going to buy. Any thoughts? They are located under 60's airstream trailers.

It has obviously had some modifications made to it that would need to be undone if you were planning on camping with it. That bump next to the door would make it too wide for ordinary trailering and the plywood would have to be replaced with aluminum.

If you want a project, the rest of it looks to be in pretty good shape. The pictures aren't very big, so it's hard to see details. Do you have access to a shop and tools?

Home-built window replacements?

The pictures are too small to really see much, but it doesn't look very encouraging.

Are those a pair of window shakers street side? Is a mobile meat locker?

Those popout windows were put in by the previous owner. Frames are still intact all around though. It's going to be a total interior renovation.

It looks like a ventilation hood of some type? Is that correct? Is there a kitchen in there? The reason I ask is because (depending on the price) if it is a kitchen you may be looking at a money making opportunity. You could flip it pretty easily if it is a kitchen trailer... On the other hand, renovation of a kitchen trailer might be a nightmare (but maybe not) as there could be all sorts of grease and other food stuffs issues. It sure looks like it had some industrial or commercial use. She skin looks nice!

Well, I brought it home yesterday. Towed pretty well, I was pleasantly surprised. Lost one tire though. Today I demo'd the pop out windows and that funky aluminum thing in front of the door. Frames are intact along with hinges. Gonna need new window cranks and accompanying hardware. Gonna start gutting tomorrow hopefully.
