2013 Models are Out!
took a brief look on RVTRADERONLINE.COM - and there they were NEW 2013 Airstreams. Just a few so far.
Now I'm headed to airstream.com

I have noticed a few 2013's in dealer stocks for the past, oh say 2 weeks or so now. Airstream seems not to have updated their website to announce their 2013 models yet though..... For example I understand that the smallest Internationals will be discontinued for 2013 (this verified by Airstream itself in a telephone conversation) yet they still show up on the site.I'd like to know what other changes will be made!

Other than the internationals being excluded from the small coaches I heard the mattress will be more comfortable and there will be a tee in the propane line for a grill connection. Any other changes? Have the ones in the RV trader reflected any price increases?

most didn't have pictures - one did. I noticed a lot of "burnt orange" - being older than dirt, I remember this from the late 60's and 70's
What goes around comes around. Retro and Kewl are one! Ooooohm!

I saw the Burnt orange. I guess we already have the Avocado green! So no Bambi's in the International series? It seems like they have sold very well and the design works for the small interior.

I still have a toilet in my downstairs bath from American Standard in Sea foam Green. I hope that comes back too,

I'd like to see turquoise appliances come back. One of my apartments had a matching jenn-air wall oven and cook top. Sadly, the avocado green fridge spoiled the whole thing.

Here's a shot of the upcoming option, the funky bunkie.
I always wondered how people stayed in those things. I would have fallen out for sure with the amount of tossing and turning I do.

Say it ain't so. Generally speaking styles come and go and sometims come back again. Someday we'll look at the stainless and say "what were we thinking. Although most of the styles in the 70's were a direct concequence of a very high 60's.If you look at period styl, the 50's were mostly good and continue to look good decades later. Not all but most. The 50's gae birth to Rock and the 70's introduced us to Disco. I've recently been looking at AS design through the deacdes and it remarkable how it was influnced by home design and color. I was in engineering school in the late 70's and remember looking at all of the pressed wood paneling, cabinets and well, everything was being manufactured out of it. Designing enviornments that would accomadate this material we learned very quickly was a challenge. We are still dealing from the fallout from this material in commercial and residential buildings. When you hear the term"value engineering" run.
I'm done with the rant now. I love my Sea Foam Green toilet with the original acrylic seat with the little silver sparkle in it. Popcorn ceilings were another 70's idea. They used asbestos as a binder until about 1988.

Vintage is cool, retro is trying to be cool and failing.

Boomerang style laminate
Bob, I would love to have the boomerang countertops with the metal edges. I wonder if they still produce that pattern? In my daylight basement in addition to sea foam plumbing fixtures the countertops are original as well. Yellow in the kitchen and pink in the bathroom. Not boomerang but similiar., post formed with high backs. I lve this stuff.
