I have the '05 Safari 25. I have had it since new and no regrets that I didn't buy or upgrade to more expensive model. It is simply within my budget and I haven't wanted to go higher. Some of the newer versions are very stylish, but even the Safari gets many complements for the way it looks inside and out.
I have both the dinette and couch fold out table on mine. I use the couch table the most.
One complaint is the quality of the foam used in cushions and mattress. It slowly squeezes down the longer you sit on lay in it. I replaced the mattress because of it. Perhaps the '06 is different.
My floor has a couple minor creaks that come and go, have since new. I'm not concerned.
I've had little or no issues with the laminate, or windows. The window openings are quite small, but with screen door open or Fantastic Fan, there is plenty of circulation.

When I called him I expected to hear only critiques of the model year. Seriously, are the cabinets made of foam in the non SE models? This buying unseen is really diffucult. I am only familiar with the 2011-12 models inside.

2006 was before they introduced the Sport model...the salesman doesn't know his stuff.

Rod', don't be so excited by the prospect of having an Airstream that you buy something too different from your dream.
Some say the mouse fur holds odors from cooking or smoking. And older such finishes may deteriorate and are very difficult to fix or replace—I don't know whether the more recent ones will do so. The aluminum interior (what we have) reflects light and makes for a brighter interior. You just have to wipe it down infrequently to make it look good—mainly dust collects. We figured if we were going aluminum, we'd go all the way.
The panos are great for views, but bad for insulation. We put Reflectix on the bedroom windows to insulate better since we rarely look through them anyway. We like the openness feel of the panos in the main cabin. I think we could get claustrophobic in a trailer on a long trip if we couldn't see outside to just about every direction.
The OEM mattresses are uncomfortable, but that can be solved with a foam topper.
We bought the Safari SE model as it had the things we liked in the International and didn't have the things we didn't like—like the slider cabinet doors that can clip a finger and hurt. It also was substantially cheaper than the Internationals.
I agree the salesman doesn't know what he is talking about and it trying to get you to buy a more expensive trailer. Don't trust him.

Hello all, well, I have now committed and purchased the unit. It was quite an ordeal for me. I went over it with the airforum checklist for three hours. I discovered some issues which they told me would be made right. It is a nice trailer with some needs. There were a couple of things not mentioned like the beltline outside has quite a bit of corrosion between rivets. The salesman told me that this is normal and then he showed me that they add this trim piece to older units to hide it. Everything worked. I found that two windows did not close all the way tightly but I was told they would look at that too. I believe what the salesman said about the "25 sport" was that the Safari became the sport and the Flying Cloud perspective of base and SE models of Safari.

Rod,
Congrat's.....sounds great!!!!
If they are going to install the belt molding to "hide" the filiform, it does need to be cleaned and treated before the install, otherwise there is a good chance it will show it's ugly head again.

Congratulations Rod'.
Assuming the windows are like ours, the latches are adjustable with a nut that is turned to tighten them. The belt trim didn't come on trailers for a few years and some started getting corrosion where the upper and lower exterior panels meet. I wouldn't call it "normal" because that indicates it is ok. It may be common in Fla. near the ocean though.
We had the belt line trim ("extrusion") installed at the factory before there was any corrosion and none has appeared adjacent to it. Bob's right—make sure it is clean and treated before they install the trim. Are they charging you for it? I think the JC service center charged us $300+ for it.

Congratulations on the new trailer! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it and I hope to see you at Alumapalooza in June at Jackson Center.
