1987 Pre Purchase Things To Look For?

Hi again. I found a 1987 excella for sale locally. Just wondering what to look for. I got a lot of information on the 1971 land yacht that I missed out on. Anything different??? Thanks! Carl

There's one. 5 awnings is good or bad? What is the difference between an excella 500 and 1000?????? Rear windows maybe?

One little low dent isn't a deal breaker for me.

5 awnings is good good me. I'd need a rock guard on the front windows.

I don't know what a 1000 is.

Oh, I see. I was looking at the back twice. It must just have 4 awnings then.

Still good in my book.

Maybe others will post about the 1000 model.

The 500 ran from 1973 to 1978, while the 1000 ran from 1991 to 1999, just going by the documents available at Airstream, Inc :: Specifications

There is also a "just plain" Excella, too, just to confuse things.

It's never simple or very clear to try to sort out AS models.

It is worth what you paid for it. It really depends on condition. It could bring $5000 or less if in bad condition or $20,000 if mint (it is not mint) Did you find out exactly what year and length it is? Did you buy it yet? Look in the classified for similar trailers on on Ebay under completed listings in the advanced search.
