Congrats on your purchase!!! I started a couple replies to your initial post but deleted them --- just figuring you had some really great responses thus far. I got my 73 Overlander about 6 months ago --- paid a smidge more and probably not quite as good shape. But, she was ready to camp and that turned out to be really important to me. If I had found more repairs necessary than expected, I think I would have fallen into that category of regretment. I did replace my axles DIY - more of a job than expected (mostly due to the weight) but completely do-able in a day.

Please post some interior pics!!! She sure looks great on the outside.

It's older than we are, but we love it anyway

Congratulations, from the picture you posted, it looks to be in great shape.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of it, you might want to start a new thread in the "Overlander" sub-forum with all of the details of it.

I am quite partial to Overlanders myself, so I'm always glad to see a new Overlander owner on the Forums.

Enjoy camping!

Congrats! I think you did a good thing here by passing up the field-find. It looks really sharp.

Out of curiousity, is yours a rear bath or a center bath? Most are rears...

Rear

After looking at the center bath design, we decided that rear would work better for us. The field one was center bath. That along with other probable issues was what pushed us to look around a bit more. Now we're glad we did.

We hope to go pick it up tomorrow, so we'll have lots and lots of pictures in a couple days. I'll make sure to post them over there for all to see.

Might be nice now if you'd post the locale and name of that auction & auction company in case other forum members in the area might want to attend.
Not much reason now to discourage interest in it is there?
Yall have given no indication of whether you will attend that auction now that you have a prize in hand. Will you still be going?

No Listing I could find here

I have told anyone who sent me a PM where the auction was, but I never thought to post it on here.

KIKO Auctions - View Upcoming Auctions

It's the one in Navarre on the 26th.

We won't go to the auction. It would require time off from work and it's not exactly close to our home. I would love to know the condition of the trailer, but it's hard to justify a vacation day just because of curiosity. That time could be better spent with the one we do own

That's a beautiful coach for that kind of investment! When are you going to show us the insides?

Auction Results

We didn't go, but a friend did.

77 Sovereign Condition:
  • all original inside
  • no obvious soft spots or rot, but carpet not pulled back to check and no ice pick test
  • curtains were falling apart
  • auction co. stated that new tires and bearing work would be recommended before transport
  • awning questionable
sold for $1800. Friend said the bidder was reluctant to go that high. He also said that there was a large crowd of people that just disappeared after the trailer sold. First bid was $500.

Hmm... was the winning bidder someone from the forum?
