1956 Flying Cloud 22'
Greetings,
I wonder if anyone would like to give an opinion on a value for a 1956 Silver Cloud on the west coast. It is the double bed model. The outside is very clean, with all hardware intact and free of rust. The skin is very shiny. Inside is mostly original. The refrigerator has been replaced with a 2 way Dometic that looks to be from the 70's and the toilet also looks to be replaced from that time. All the plumbing has been replaced including a new water heater. There is no evidence of leakage in the floor or around the windows.
Assume all mechanical, gas and electric works.
Happy to hear all opinions.
Thanks

I suspect Flying Cloud ...check out:

Good luck if you decide to go for it! Post pics if you can ~

Don't assume anything. floor by the door. Floor by rear hatch. Floor under toilet tank. It will need new electrical, new battery, new converter, new water system and tanks (avoid metal originals), new tires, bearings and hitch (ask me about original hitches),And.....you think a 40 year old Dometic is a selling point? Is it Ohio or California model?, Does it have the hydraulic brakes or electric......if hydraulic....thats a problem. Needs a new propane system. You can see here why many of these nice Models (as this one is) end up stripped out and "ready for you ideas "or food wagon candidate.

I agree...we started off thinking our '56 Safari just needed "a few things"...it ended up being a 3-1/2 year, "shell-on-but-floor-out" total restoration.
It's like peeling an onion, the further you get into it, the juicier it gets ~

Thanks for the responses. I agree the replacement fridge does not add value. It is the whale tail model, I believe built in California. I hadn't gotten far enough into it to check out the brakes, but that is a serious consideration. The info on the electrical system is appreciated. I think this thing would need to be had for under $10,000 at the most, yes?

If it has a whale tail, then it is a California trailer. They were only built in California.

$10000 is way too much. It needs to be in the $2000-$3000 range. The only way it is worth $10000 is if most of the refurb has been done and done well.
