Serial number plates

This is the photo of the S/N plate off a Ambassador..

Do they all look hand stamped like this??
Also, what are the faint numbers/letters in the upper corners??

serial plate

Where is this plate located on your trailer?.
From what I see, you have a 1977 International 28 footer, corect?

Opps I meant 1967 ?? Saw your photos- looks cold out there. Is that what you have ??

Alex,

It is located just froward of the door (on the curb side.) under the window.

I thought that it was a '67. But I could be wrong. Any guesses on the upper numbers???

VIN Breakdown

They way it was explained to me is,

The first number designated INTERNATIONAL
The next 2 digits is the length.
The next letter designates the bed configuration T for Twins
D for Double bed.
The next digit is the year model
the next letter is where it was built S - California
J is for OHIO
The last 4 number are the sequencial assigned from factory line

This is how a 1972 VIN reads.
I do not know if it is different for the 60's models, which I believe you have . Someone out there on the forum may know.
Good Luck
