just asked the "real" account owner, via eBay messaging (NOT the email in RED) if he had some interior pictures of "his" trailer that he could post.
Noted the the owner of account just recently purchased some items, so hopefully he'll be responsive one way or the other to my request!

He is gone
I guess Ebay removed him.
Interesting to me is the timing of the ad. It was placed close to a week end with a time limit to buy which would limit any checking and validating checks changing hands. No chance to recover on a rush purchase or check phoney checks. I hope there are savy folks out there who won't bite on these too good to be true ads.

Just asked the "true" owner of the account to post more pictures of the interior - looks like this account was also recently active.
BTW, I think the "please contact" the email in red is identical to the previous one that Melody Ranch spotted.
Will report to eBay as well.
Since we do a lot of buying & selling on eBay, I like to do our part to keep the potential scum out of the picture!
If the advert is legit, which I doubt, then the real owner of the account can come forth & has all rights to sell their trailer at whatever.

Wow...this was my Safari and I ended up selling it to a couple from Seattle. They just told me they saw 'my pics' on another ebay listing and sure enough it's the one in this string. I tried to alert Ebay to this as I see there are several bids already. Hopefully it gets yanked ASAP.

p.s. I just bid a ridiculous amount on this trailer in hopes of preventing someone from 'winning' this.

I did report this to eBay & received a reply - this was this morning & am surprised that it hasn't been pulled yet!
Any eBay motor's listing that has an outside contact is suspect - as well, a short listing period?
MG911, did you originally sell thru eBay? Since I see you are from SK, the scammer must have hijacked someone's account then added your pictures?

The auction didn't meet my 'reserve price' but the highest bidder contacted me and we worked out a deal after the auction closed.
I never thought about the hijacked thing...I was wondering how he got such good feedback. Why don't you outbid my $50,000 and see how high we can get this before it gets yanked??!
Anyway, the real buyers are coming up from Seattle this week. We'll be sad to see our baby go but I have a feeling it will be in good hands.

Hey Mike - glad that your baby is going to a good home!
Seems like this guy tried to hijack another listing last week for a vintage airstream- his listing on the other hijacked account was for only 3 days - in the eBay world, it can often take 48 hours to pull a listing. So, this scammer is hoping, with a short period to sell, that he can fly under the eBay policy radar.
There are a lot of gullible people out there who are looking for the deal of the century - they're the fodder for the scammers. At least with Airstreamers, there's a healthy community that keeps an eye on what's for sale on eBay, looking for the real deal.
We have a watch on this, so if not pulled by tomorrow morning, we will enter into a bidding war with you

I emailed the person that really has the account, since I know him, and have purchased stuff from him before. It's a small world, and I know he doesn't own a Mac (.me email addy in the listing).

Oh Pooh! I just when into my eBay to put a $60K bid on this 2005 Safari trailer & found the listing gone!
Glad to see eBay finally pulled the listing - yes, Terry, this is a small world, especially in the Airstream community!
Mike - all the best with the "real" sale of your trailer - be sure to invite the new owners to the forums!

I just received the following email:
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my 2005 Airstream Safari LS QB.
The price I want to obtain for the Travel Trailer is $14,000 US. I have closed my auction earlier. The buyer who has made the purchase at the buy now price wanted finance and unfortunately i can not provide that.
I must apologies for the late response, but because I work with the U.S. Air Force, i am stationed at HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii it's very hard for me to reply faster. It looks and great, it has never been wrecked and has no rust or hidden damages. It will come with a clear title, bill of sale signed by me as well and all the papers (including the original manuals and all records) that you will need to register it under your name.
So I'm willing to let it go for $14,000, First come, First served. The delivery is made from OH. Shipping is already paid, I have made the arrangements to ship the Travel Trailer anywhere within continental US and it 's ready to ship at anytime. I have also attached the pictures.
Look forward to receiving your answer
Dr. Keith Siepel
Sounds to me like he thinks he has hooked someone, so he is a "DR", really now!

Tell him that your Air Force buddy that has friends at Hickam is now stationed in OH & will come & inspect it for you!

I guess it got pulled this morning. Too bad...would like to have seen it bid up to a cool million or so! Anyway, this idiot has given me a Hawaii area code phone # and I promised him tomorrow I would promptly wire the $14,000 to his Chase Manhattan Account under the name of "Andy Vrac". Apparently this is an Ebay Motors agent who will "hold the money until I inspect the trailer and decide if I want it".
Well, I sure as heck hope nobody else is sending this loser money...
