Oh Pooh! I just when into my eBay to put a $60K bid on this 2005 Safari trailer & found the listing gone!

Glad to see eBay finally pulled the listing - yes, Terry, this is a small world, especially in the Airstream community!

Mike - all the best with the "real" sale of your trailer - be sure to invite the new owners to the forums!

I just received the following email:

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in my 2005 Airstream Safari LS QB.
The price I want to obtain for the Travel Trailer is $14,000 US. I have closed my auction earlier. The buyer who has made the purchase at the buy now price wanted finance and unfortunately i can not provide that.
I must apologies for the late response, but because I work with the U.S. Air Force, i am stationed at HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii it's very hard for me to reply faster. It looks and great, it has never been wrecked and has no rust or hidden damages. It will come with a clear title, bill of sale signed by me as well and all the papers (including the original manuals and all records) that you will need to register it under your name.
So I'm willing to let it go for $14,000, First come, First served. The delivery is made from OH. Shipping is already paid, I have made the arrangements to ship the Travel Trailer anywhere within continental US and it 's ready to ship at anytime. I have also attached the pictures.
Look forward to receiving your answer
Dr. Keith Siepel

Sounds to me like he thinks he has hooked someone, so he is a "DR", really now!

I guess it got pulled this morning. Too bad...would like to have seen it bid up to a cool million or so! Anyway, this idiot has given me a Hawaii area code phone # and I promised him tomorrow I would promptly wire the $14,000 to his Chase Manhattan Account under the name of "Andy Vrac". Apparently this is an Ebay Motors agent who will "hold the money until I inspect the trailer and decide if I want it".

Well, I sure as heck hope nobody else is sending this loser money...

I must have won that one with my $42K bid. Plus it includes free shipping.

Looks like the 67 Globetrotter was pulled already - hope that eBay has this guy's number.

Maybe someone out in AS land can answer this one - the guy that wanted $14K for the 2005 Safari must have had a bank account in the states as I believe that any "foreign" transfers over $10K attract attention, which is why the Nigerians like the amounts around $5K . . . .

I seem to remember something about a limit of $15K for something. Either cash in hand, or transactions. That might be a reason for the $14K "BIN".

A scammer (see my separate SCAM Alert post) inquired about my Airstream for sale and I sent them MANY photos.....now I fear that the photos I sent of my wonderful Airstream will be featured on upcoming EBAY ads. The photos are great! The Airstream is great! ....but I won't be posting on EBAY or Craigslist.
