late model Flying Cloud with "branded" title?

Got a line on an interesting Flying Cloud which has a "branded" title, the current owner says is due to some water damage. What is a "branded" title and what does that mean?

Many flavors of "branded" according to this Wiki - caution!

Most likely a salvage title if the insurer paid it off as "totaled".

Check the DMV of the state issuing the title.

Branded Title

May be a good deal now, but when you go to sell it you will have to deal with folks maybe not wanting an Airstream with a branded title.

We had a vintage model with a "salvaged restored" title in AZ.

The prior owner had backed it into a house awning leaving a big dent in the right rear corner but no hole in the aluminum.

We bought it with the salvaged title as the insurance company had kept it and paid the owner off.

We took it to MVD, they visually inspected it and gave us the "salvaged restored title". We were fully upfront with that information when we sold it and had no problem.

From our experience in the auto industry Water damage is some of the most insidious. It seeps into unseen places and can cause rust, mould, wiring issues and a lot of other long term problems. Be very Careful.

If this is true, run away, you can’t see what the water done, unless you get ti for 10 0/0 orpf value
