Mary, Others who are better at the decoding of your vin id number will help you with this year issue and what the other numbers mean. I just wanted to let you know that Airstreams are as unique as they are because the company in lots of cases not only sold trailers with options that buyers could pay to add to a basic unit, but also built some special design layout options for customers specific needs and/or usage. The vin number on your trailer may or may not include a number/letter sequence that refers to some of those customized features. The Airstream plate Has the Model (M) = length 22 feet the options D = Double bed, then SS that is most likely Santa Fe Springs plant and your trailers sequential run serial number = 0415. Landyacht indicated a certain trim package level. Hope this helps, Ed
QUOTE=safaritime;1774574]Hi
I just recently bought what I thought was a
1960 Safari but I am having trouble finding my layout and in researching a bit on here on how to read my model number I think I may have a
1963. I am looking to see if anyone here may be able to shed some light.
22DSS0415
I know it is 22 ft and a double made in CA. but the rest????
I also know it is a LandYacht since I have that plaque on the side.
I have a bath layout that seems to be rare with a sink and tub/shower sharing a faucet with a hose attached.
Thanks in advance for any help.
