It is in Leesburg right next to Lake Harris where the gators are getting too "friendly". Like the bears in NJ.

Okay, does Pensy currently want certified mech, or shop with state MVR number?

The first choice and probably the one I will use is the tracing. The certified mechanic option is if the vin is not tracable. Is Cape Fear a nick name for Cape Canaveral or Cape Kennedy? Guess I am a little outof touch.

I have learned from taking vehicles from Florida to Pennsylvania that if you wait till you get to PA to transfer the title, you will need a notarized bill of sale for Pennsylvania. It would be easier to go to Florida and transfer the paperwork here.
did he not say it was a older tt ?

Starting in the late 1980's, the spot for the notary was eliminated. So, no matter what year it is, if the trailer has had its title transferred since then it will have the newer title, with no spot for a notary.

I have the plate for the trailer and the temporary regisration in my hand. This time I went to my local friendly notary/plate and title issuer. She was only intersted in the Certificate of Title from Florida signed but of course not notarized. There was no mention of a tracing perhaps because she knows me and trusts that there is such a trailer in existance. So as far as a plate is concerned she is good to go. Axle issue over on the axle area of this forum may not go so easily.
