Do I need to register a 'immobile' Airstream?
As you may have noticed, I'm a newbie here to the boards- so forgive me if this question has been answered a billion times...
I don't intend to tow my Airstream anywhere but from point A (it's current location at the home of the previous owner) to Point B (my fabulous new plot at the Land of Evangeline Campground in the Valley) There it will rest as my cottage. So... do I need to register it with DMV? I do have the title and bill of sale, and I'm in Nova Scotia, so I don't know if laws vary from province to province or if there is a federal law regarding registration of immobile trailers.
Any thoughts?

You should ask your local DMV. I know in my state in the USA, I would need to register it to move it from one location to another if I was planning on using public roads for the transport.

When I brought Gertrude home from Ohio to Colorado, I was able to get an Ohio temporary tag for the trip. I just went to the Ohio tag office with the title. I think it cost $10. That way you would be covered for the transport.

Texas is the same way. We are able to get a temporary tag good for a day or for several days in order to move either a vehicle or trailer from one place to another. Contact your local DMV and see what arrangements you may have available.

Be sure to get the title transferred over to your name, even if you don't plan on registering it for road use.

Also, check with the campground. They may require the unit to be registered.

Also....
In some states in the US, immoble trailers are taxed like a house trailer in a park or subdivision; in others, the county requires a current tag from the county the campground is located, even if the owner resides elsewhere. Don't forget to check your insurance as well. Some Airstreams will not be covered normally(by your auto insurance) if it is permanently parked.

Here is bad too
If it moves it has to have a tag here too. They have to get everything thing they can from us either taxing us to death or nickle and diming us to death.

You can have the trailer moved for you if it is done on a flatbed trailer with out having to register it. Follow Stefrobrts advice and have the ownership transfered to you.

Some states, Like Oregon, levy a fine if you don't register your vehicle, trailer, moho in a certain amount of time. I think here it is 30 days from date of purchase. I would still get the title transferred. Same goes when the tabs expire. That fine is 25 bucks a month for every month you are behind. I think there is a cap but I don't know what it is.
Just something to check into.

That's now considered a felony here in Florida.
Also, if you want to insure it, the insurance company may require it to be currently tagged in the current owner's name.

No insurance on mine, they are covered under my truck liability policy. And considering the worth and condition... And all of the titles are in my name, I must have just gotten the right tag on the wrong trailer
