Doorgunner, I dont want to rain on your parade and Im glad they straightened it out but.. when my son turned 16 in 1996, I took him to the local DMV to get his liscense, for the FIRST time I might add, and they told us that he couldnt get them beause they were suspended in Fla. I ask, how can they be suspended when he has never had them? They told me they were suspended on a hit and run. I told them they were crazy! Aparently the other guy had the same full name and birthdate as my son, or so they said. So like you, I had to call Fla and try to straighten it out. Needless to say this went on for almost a year. I, like you told them that there was no way the SS# could match and they said they didnt go by that, just the name. I ask when this accident took place and they gave me a date. So I said, you mean my son snuck out in the middle of the night, drove 16 hrs, hit someone, and drove all the way back, another 16hrs and was in bed for me to wake him for school? The lady proceeded to tell me that I would have to drive him to FLa and let them look at him to make sure it wasnt the same person, yeah right! Finally, Tn let him have a liscense after a lot of arguing with them but the first time he went through a roadblock, they took his liscense and it started over again. Luckily this time the boy got in trouble in fla again while we were trying to straighten it out and they gave my son his back. The sad thing is that it will always be there. Keep a record of all the letters, phone calls, and people you talk to just in case.

Tammy- Why oh why is it so very easy for me to believe your situation!! This whole National Driver License Database is a pile of crap. Here you are guilty until you can prove you are innocent. Yup
or as Maverick says-"you know what really pi$$es me off about this Goose?"
is the fact that the ticket they were holding above me was issued in 1977 and COMPLIED with within a month. The Fla. jokesters had no pic, no finger prints, no ssn. I did find out from the Ca. dmv that the address was where I was living in Newport Beach Ca. at the time.So I was never there, did my dl get lifted somehow and used in Fla? who knows it was 31 years ago.
I'm gonna join a Militia outfit somewhere, they'ld love to have my firepower.
I've had it with this overbearing thing we call gov't.

trust no one- the truth is out there.

Just think, somewhere in KY is a guy that had to pay your fine so he could get his drivers license reinstated.
All it would take is one more step from DMV to keep any of this from happening. Do they do it? No. Will they ever do it? I think we all know the answer.
