i am in the process of buying a motor home in California. How do you determine if there are any liens against the title?

David, ask the seller to fax you a copy of the title. Found this info on the CA. DMV web site. Jeff

Title Liens

Hi, David. In California it's pretty simple to determine if there are any liens on the title; Mostly, if the owner / seller has the pink slip / title in his possession there are no liens. You don't get your title from DMV until you pay off your loan. But in some cases you need to get the lien holder to sign off their part and apply for a new title without the lien holder's name on the title. If you have the title it is yours, but nicer without the previous lien holder's name still on your title.

Bob
