Bonded Title Question

I'm looking at buying an old AS in Texas and asked the owner about the title. He said it is "bonded" so the AS is protected. It is my understanding that this bonded title is in effect for 3 years. What happens at the end of the 3 years? Is this the window that someone else would have to claim it?

I am afraid to put any time and money into fixing it up if there is the potential to have someone claim this is their AS down the road.
