Another VIN question....Bambi, but what year?

I'm working on purchasing this Bambi (yes, I knocked on the door). Owner wasn't home, but am wondering what year this Bambi is? I tried to look it up, but it looks like a '64 Bambi II from the number. But the tag doesn't look like the ones I saw in pictures. It just says plain "Bambi". Anyone know what it is?

It looks like the 3rd Bambi II to roll of the floor (1964) in Jackson Center.

Becky,
My Bambi just says Bambi, but that was in 63. I think the BambiII 's just said Bambi too.

Bambi II ?

Just my thoughts:

Could be that the II has broken off the end of the BAMBI . I have seen both the II attached to the BAMBI and out to the right of it. As stated earlier, the ID appears to the Bambi II....you could also measure from ball to bumper, should be 17' or so. Also look to the right of the BAMBI for a hole where the II might have been attached.

Best Regards,
Levon

Lightbulb Welcome to 1964...a "transition year"!

Another thought...being that it is so early in the model year for a '64 Bambi II (based on the VIN # as Richard pointed out) the factory may not have had the new "Bambi II" tags yet or they had some leftover plain "Bambi" tags from '61-'63 they needed to use up first.

That would make the most sense to me.....

Still don't know if I have a chance of getting it. It's totally trashed on the inside (no window glass...will need a complete gut job, new floor, probably new frame). Outside is in good condition. Am waiting for the owner to call me. He was out of town but his neighbor told me it has been there for at least 10 years. The license plate is from 1991. I'd have to get it for REALLY cheap if the owner even wants to sell it. Not to mention it's trapped in the woods by trees. I'll update the story if I ever get one!
