It is almost over

Well, the year is almost up, at least the calendar year, does anybody out there in AS Land know what the final number of Airstreams produced was for 2007. What was the number one produced model?

My guess is 1930 units and the 25 FB Safari was number one model in terms of produced quantity.

Who else wants to guess or better yet, who knows?

hi time'

i'm sure u realize 2007 (j-d) includes 06 and 07 units.

ok, here is another question for production stat junkies...

which years (select 2) were the all time peak production?

at ~5000 total a/s units year.

hard to believe they were at that level for a time, but it's true....

maybe.

cheers

2007 USA estimated census 301,139,950.
Population of Canada 33,390,141.

If 2000 AS were produced in 2007. That equals one per 167,000 people. Not counting overseas populations.
Diamonds are much more common.

There have been 285 AIRSTREAMS Built between January 1st 2007 and October 31st. This came from a dealer publication. The top 10 dealers (there are approximately 75 dealers in the US) sell almost 90 percent of all AS sold in the US.

20+16=36/day
36*5=180/week
180*50(weeks)=9000/year

Ya know....I saw them numbers in black and white. And tomorrow I am going back to the guy who showed me the article and publish it here if HE has it. I swear....285 units through Oct. 31 is what the article said. One dealer I visited a month ago shopping for AS told me they made 2500. But that doesnt make sense since the largest dealer in the country sold about 70 airstreams last year and the guy who told me HE was a top 10 dealer only sold 24 last year? Someone needs to get a handle on these numbers. This isnt top secret stuff...someone knows.

I was in the traler life forum some time ago and this subject of production came up about Airstream. Someone had production numbers for quite a few years. Those numbers ranged from 1,600 units a year to as few as 425 in some recent years.

Airstream production for 2007 averaged around 130 units per month. These are real numbers, for me I believe.

Id bet U are close. Lynn has carefully hidden her location. When Marylou and I were there in Sept our guide on the plant tour(D0N) told us about 35 units a week. Someone mentioned automation. They did have the 2mil router/saw installed and running .IT cuts out all the counter tops and cabinetry. Just pop in a piece of laminate and a few seconds later WALA a countertop. Its really neat. There were a few things we missed that our infamous OSHA will not let us close too that I would like to see but OH WELL.Oh that 35 units a week is in 4 1/2 days their go home at 1 on Friday.
