Hope this helps

Hello Vintage Kin Owner,

Here's a brochure for the 69 model year which is the same body style. It lists the 28' Travelcader gross weight and hitch weight at 4,380 and 550 respectively.

Regards,

Kevin

Yes this is a good Yahoo group with plenty of friendly people and a good exchange dialog.

Also suggest SILVERAVION :: INDEX

If you want to know the actual weight, not just the published weight, it is always wisest to take the unit to a weigh scales. They are usually at truck stops or places that dispose of building materials or sell stuff by weight. Probably will have to pay a small fee.

Although the brochure states that as gross weight I think it is in error and should be curb weight . My 25' airstream has a gross weight of 5800# and the avions are typically heaveier .

I tend to agree that it is most likely a "Curb Weight" listed in the brochure as 4,380 lbs seems low for a GVWR, and yes Avions are heavy. Our 73 Avion 25' comes in close to 5,000 lbs dry and has a GVWR of 7,238 lbs.

While the brochure weight would seem to answer d2's question tinhutjouhn's suggestion to have it weighed is the only way to really gain an accurate number.
