Usaa - How is the service?

Any of you have USAA for your TV and/or cars?
What do you think of their service?
How do they compare with other insurance companies you have had?

I'm just starting to look around to replace my State Farm policy and would like to hear from those of you who have experience with USAA.
The cost of having a State farm policy is starting to eat away at my spending money. I like how State Farm handles things but the cost seems too high.

I have USAA for the house, car. TV and Airstream. They have excellent customer service but they don't deal with a lot of RV's so you need to get a clear insured value set.

One nice thing is that they occasionally send you back money when they have had a good year. Unlooked for but always appreciated.

USAA is the best. Been with them for years. Outstanding customer service. I ensure both my vehicles and Airstreams through them.

I have been with USAA for 25 years. Everything I own is insured with them. A+ service that can't be beat.

My question is if you are eligible for USAA, why are you with state farm to begin with. USAA member for all my toys since 1976

IMHO USAA is the best there is. I have had insurance (Auto and renter's) with them for 12 years now. I recently moved all my banking and investments to them as well. As you can see from the posts here you can't go wrong with USAA. I don't know anyone that has ever had a problem with them. When we bought the AS in November, I called USAA and was referred to "Progressive for USAA members". I have an agreed value policy with Progressive. I guess that USAA is getting out of the boat/RV insurance business and referring clients to Progressive.

We use USAA for our three vehicles and two homes. They were less expensive than State Farm, and offer far more benefits that any other provider I have used.

Ditto what everyone above has said. We have had two claims in over 40 years of membership and both were handled quickly and fairly. One was for hail damage to our '04 Airstream. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

Homeowners and all vehicles with USAA. One year ago when we bought our Airstream I insured it w/USAA in a fit of laziness about comparison shopping. Our experience with customer service is as others have commented above - the greatest. If cost of insurance was equal or even slightly higher I would choose USAA for the quick claims paying and superior service.

I have a serious problem about carrying a grudge against companies that have "done me wrong." You just mentioned two of them: USAA and State Farm (I'm a Florida resident, if that gives you any indication). Without going into the gory negative details of the two afore mentioned companies, I can recommend Progressive for your "new" Airstream. I'm assuming you are the original owner and would qualify for a "stated value" policy (highly recommended). Progressive's rates are very competitive, and they have the annual decreasing deductible.

My policy is renewing next month for an annual premium of $522 ($49,500 agreed value and $375 deductible for Comp and Collision).

USAA is great! I have banking, & ins for autos & house with them. Service is outstanding even when odd claims are called in. (I had my car steering wheel stolen).

Had good experiences with USAA for many years BUT their quotes on motorcycles were way above other companies and when I sought to insure my AS, I was transferred to a Progressive agent, from whom I bought and then switched my TV coverage to Progressive also.

I've been with USAA for 39 years. Currently insure a Ford, Mercedes, Porsche, Airstream, Casita, and a puny 10 foot flatbed trailer for my lawnmower. USAA has financed both houses that I currently own, and one that I previously owned. I also put about 60% of my investments through them (the other 40% are thru my employer and I can't roll it to USAA which I would do if I could.). Both of my credit cards come from USAA and I have used them as my only bank for 18 years.

Having said that I must also report that I have never actually seen USAA (HQ San Antonio) and the whole operation might be run out of someone's garage for all I know.

But I do like their services, appreciate the dividends mentioned by an earlier poster, and highly recommend the insurer/bank/investment services. This is a VERY conservative financial service provider, managed by a board of directors mostly or exclusively career military personnel. I was most grateful for my membership during the 1999 dotcom crisis and the 2008 meltdown, damage was minimal to my investments and holdings.

I use to own an Autobody/Collison Repair shop and USAA was the best company to work with as far as getting repairs done and paying the bill. I went to their corporate offices in the Seattle area and was impressed all the way around how they did business.

USAA since 1953 and I will never change. They insure house, truck, 2 cars, and Airstream for this couple.

I have always had my trailers insured with USAA. I had excellent service on windstorm damage to my Scamp in the 90s, hail damage to my Trailmanor in early 2000s, and a recent segment replacement on my current Airstream.

When I was sideswiped in my car by an 18-wheeler driven by an illegal who then disappeared, USAA went to bat and recovered my deductible.

I must echo the compliments of USAA. Being prior military for 11 years I signed up with them shortly before I got out of the service. From there have all of my "stuff" insured thru them. I even bank and invest with them. Amazing customer service!
