TT Insurance- who do you use and what rate??

We do not have insurance coverage on our AS but am thinking about getting coverage. Got a good rate quote from Progressive for $285 per year.
does anyone out there feel insurance coverage is good to have for a 29 year old travel trailer??
needing some good advice

Yes it's a good idea . My understanding is that when the trailer is attached to the vehicle it is covered under the vehicle insurance ( check your particular policy ) . However , when it is not attached it is not covered . It is also not covered by home owner insurance if it is a registered vehicle. Price is dependent on location so will vary , but that seems high. Mine is about $75 /yr with Liberty Mutual.

$75 per year? wow that is fantastic. I may have to phone them.
I will phone my current insurance provider and see if the TT is covered when pulled by the TV

Smart idea to get some insurance for your trailer. Here are some links to similar topics on the forum that you may find useful in your research...

Do not forget your belongings. Insuring the trailer frame and body is one thing, do not forget the contents. I have all of it insured. I can not tell you how much right now we are on the road for three months. We are with GEICO and I shopped around and they were the best over all.

The key is to verify that your insurer will truly give you that kind of money if your vintage unit is totaled. You should get the trailer independently appraised to make sure that Progressive will own up to covering that insured amount.

I have Progressive as my carrier although I've had no claims experience with them. I do have their road service that goes along with the policy that will take care of the trailer and even the tow vehicle if it is disabled. They will tow both the trailer and tow vehicle if necessary.
