Question Motorhome insurance

I am about to take delivery of a brand new AS Interstate 3500. I have all my other insurance with State Farm; five policies including homeowners, 2 other vehicles, rental apartment, and personal liability umbrella policy. They quoted me $642/yr. for $500 deductible collision and comprehensive for the new rig. It has an MSRP of $116K. Anyone else have an AS motorhome? Does this sound reasonable?

hi 'kid...

did u get comparative quotes from other companies?

progressive for example?

$ varies by plan DETAILS, state, driver record, credit/fica/financial health and so on...

what is REASONABLE is a balance of WHAT's covered, how claims are handled, WHO can do repairs and so on...

RV policies should be more like mini HOME OWNERS insurance that auto plans...

did you request REPLACEMENT coverage (new unit if yours is totaled) and if so WHAT are the specifics of the rider?

if NOT the policy will use book/market values and that means a HUGE loss in the first 1-3 years ownership...

all the details matter.

cheers

Sounds real reasonable; I pay $700.00 a year with Foremost.

Thanks 2air. I went with SF mainly because I've been with them for decades. The few claims I've submitted have always been handled efficiently and they have paid better than I could reasonably expect. But your points are good ones and I will check into the details before I head south to pick up my new rig. Especially good point about loss of value when the unit is new.

Thanks,
