Insurance in the District of Columbia

Hi,

Has anyone on the forum had luck on purchasing insurance for a travel trailer in DC? We are having a hard time finding an insurance provider. Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions.

Good Sam just resells and mostly it's expensive.

Try GEICO. And if you garage it outside the city - say in Alexandria - it will be cheaper.

Interesting question. Insurance companies do exclude different states for different reasons. Check with BlueSky. I don't see that they exclude DC. Good price, solid coverage and doesn't have what I will call stupid exclusions of GoodSam/National insurance.

I would not register an AS in Alexandria because they will nail you for personal property tax. If you want to register your trailer outside of DC; garage it in Prince William County = no personal property tax on RV's.

I have found that "if" you get full replacement coverage on the RV Good Sam has very good rates, Progressive and the lizard could not match the coverage at the same price, I know nothing of BlueSky, but will look into it.
