Insurance coverage for full value?

How can I find insurance coverage on my 87 to cover the full amount I have in it after renovations and upgrades?

There a couple of threads here in this sub-forum that cover that, tho I can't point you to them at the moment. I think member "Sneakinup" is an insurance guy and had some good comments on the subject. Use the search feature and see what you come up with.

ON EDIT: It is forum member "Driftwood" that I was thinking of, not Sneakinup. Sorry for the mix up.

If I remember correctly Foremost will offer you a higher valued policy. Give them a call and see what steps you need to go through to do this. I would think that you might need an appraisal to confirm the value you want.

My auto insurance carrier just added my '77 for $10,000 without a look see.

$42 semi annual premium.

no free lunch...

most of the insurance carriers will sell......

'agreed value' policies....

this works well for older cars or trailers or boats or whatever...

that have been modded, or are worth more than the blue book.

some require an appraisal.

others want copies of the work receipts.

the easiest ones just ask for an estimated value,

and if not way out there....

write the policy.

cost does increase as agreed value increases....

for some old seldom used vehicles it's cheaper to get a policy from companies that write for collectible cars.

agreed value isn't full amount or replacement cost...however.

cheers
