1948 WeeWind Airstream, may be a bit of strech to get insurance for..I'd like to know how that works out.
Biggest issue will be determining the value of your unit. You might consider going to a reputable A/S dealer and, getting it appraised for insurances purposes. If you paid premium price for it, then..that may help set the bench mark for insurance purposes.
I had no problem insuring our unit with my regular insurance agent. Unfortunalty till I get an apraisal they will only insure it for $3k. Once I get an apraisal they said no problem on insuring it for aparaised value. Honestly in it's current condiion $3k is a reasonable amount of coverage.
I'm with State Farm.

Not in the same league as 1948 Wee Wind, but when I went to insure my 2003 Safari, my current insurer would not insure it as "it was too valuable". I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life.
My agent was able to find another company (Elite) who specializes in RV insurance.
