Well, now some of them are closer to the west coast if anyone out here still wants one. But you have to figure with markup from the first sale, how much are you willing to pay for what will be an empty shell to build back up?

HERE YOU GO!!!

1st one up!!! http://tinyurl.com/yj4vslg

oh, and sorry vmarsha:

This unit was 1 of 8 air stream trailers that was in a light water loss in Woodstock, GA.
It will have a clean title with damage history. The trailer sustained water damage inside. This trailer we have not checked out, it will be sold as is. This is a great opportunity for you to clean it your self and save thousands. Please call 801-392-2400 with any questions.

Looks like mud on the bottom of the curtains and on the bathroom counter. I guess that's "light water damage" in Utah?

The ceiling looks great! I like the "Reserve not met" part. What could that be?

"Light water loss"? What a crock. It's now been over a month and there is still water in the dang thing. And how the heck can they possibly issue a "clear title"?

A "clear title" would be one without an liens or other claims against it, so a salvage title can be clear.

I really hope those douchebags lose their @$$ on that trailer and I hope no poor unsuspecting person buys that mold infested trailer. Light water damage. Yeah, ok, it was at least up to the sinks. Nothing save for the t.v. and aircon will even work, maybe the water pump.

I'm not an ebay user, so I really don't know the answer to this question.

Is there anyway someone could provide a link to this thread to the potential bidders? Is that possible, legal, or even advisable!

I just used the Ask Seller A Question feature of Ebay and asked him how high the flood water had gotten inside the trailer. I think they have to post questions and answers with the auction listing.

I tell ya, if they're not going to thoroughly clean them, the buyer will be shocked! The drawers, floor, bath tubs, kitchen counters, sinks, curtains... everything was wet. The safaris were the worst, too. The dinette frames were upholstered and that was completely submerged. If I were crazy enough to buy one, it would have to be one of the CCDs. They were mostly wood, and metal below the water line. A little easier to clean the nastiness off of. I tried the electrics in 4 of the units, and if you held the button down on the control panel that said "store/use" everything worked off battery (lights/fan)... all the above the water-line stuff.

Having said that, I was MOST concerned about what was going on inside the walls with all the units. My '54 smells bad enough, and it's never been underwater!

Anyway, inform em if you can! I told ya something fishy was going on with the titles. "Light water damage" implies a leaky window to me... not 6' of standing water.

This thread is going to be like a train wreck... everyone's gonna watch it!

Is there some other way that these trailers are supposed to be dealt with? This kind of transaction happens everyday on ebay and the people who buy these things are not being ripped off. The listing has about as much information as I would expect from someone trying to sell something in this condition. No amount of cleaning will make these units useable. They will require disassembly to be safe and comfortable. I have never seen an ad for anything say that, and I don't expect to see it now.
"Buyer beware" everyday!

Airstream01, wassup man? You sound like you got ripped off.

I think Airstream01's beef is with the "light water damage" description... these guys need to tell it like it is: "you're bidding on a new trailer that sat in river water up to its ceiling for about 16 hours..."

The pics tell the story, YUCK....

These flooded units will need a frame off restoration.
Replace the floor, insulation and on and on........
The shell is too nice to part out.

I'm surprised the soaked interior hasn't disintegrated on the trip to Utah.
