So do I lol, but I'd rather be honest with people than try to pretend like all is fine and dandy with these trailers. I'm not tryin to be a salesperson.

wasting TIME whoz doin' that...

i'm thinking of opening a chain of rollin, mobile meth labs...

to avoid state income taxes.

THESE units would be perfect for THAT use.

who wants IN?

once the mobile factories are dressed out for use, we will run a VERY creative ad campaign...

"free sniffs 4 stiffs, come on in!"

"crystal meth and airstreams, an all american combination!"

"airstream we WILL rock you"

"up your nose, out our brain, the altered air-stream consciousness..."

"wallez' silver meth...see MORE, hear MORE, fear MORE..."

and i've got others...

cheers

Do you really think these are any more toxic than an older airstream that has been sitting around for years with birds and rats living in them? If so then I will wear a respirator for the week or two it will take to remove all the inside stuff. These will no harder to restore than any other projects that are from the ground up. I hope to get three of them. One for my son to fix up, one for me to fix up for a weekend camper, and one for a portable billboard/office. If it doesnt work out, so what, I only lose $1,000 dollar or so. I will be doing my part to help the economy.

I agree that you should use a respirator anytime you are pulling apart an old trailer, car, house, or any structure where you will find rodent/bird droppings, mold and mildew. I certainly did when I was working on my trailer! Hobbies are supposed to be fun, not debilitating!

might be perfect for a full-blown custom job... like the mobile studios, or diners I've seen-- since you'd be GUTTING it right down to, and including the wiring...

'nother pam anderson luv'stream, anyone?

IF that is the goal,

there is NO NEED to decontaminate the unit.

cheers

I just walked through all 8 of these guys. LOT of clean up needed, but only the lower 6 feet of the trailer. The ceilings are in perfect shape! Bidding closes tomorrow at 1:00. The guy there said he's expecting $60K. HA!

THANKS ANYWAY! I was gonna bid $6K!

Whatever this orange stuff is... it comes free in EVERY unit!

I feel a scratchy throat coming on, now... Think I'll go hang out in the unrestored '54 for a breath of FRESH air...

If they sell as a "lot" which is what was posted, that's $7500 a piece if they get it. I doubt they would get it from any one who knows AS's.. But I am darn sure to my core, that people who don't know, will pay that much (looking only at "what I paid" vs what the msrp is)and at least attempt to "flip" them. After claening them up to some degree. And people who know even less will buy them. and after a few months or years, may find this place, trying to find out why the AS they have is rotting away..

They may get flooded again before the auction. We had 4 inches of rain in Atlanta yesterday and another 2 - 3 inches are forecast for tomorrow.

Let's post them on the Craigslist in Nigeria.

You beat me to the punch. I just watched the weather and they are saying 5" now, "with locally heavier" totals possible. We had 3" just yesterday at our house.

Where did I put those plans for the ark?

$60K, eh? I think somebody mixed a little loco weed in that guy's feed. Somebody needs to go over there and give him a link to this thread.
