Complete Insurance Coverage?

Who has all their insurance ( car, truck, trailer, homeowners)
with one company? We have our Airstream with Progressive Direct. They'll cover auto but not homeowners. Sometimes you get a pretty good break when a company covers everything. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Good advice

I second USAA if you qualify (military or military family). I have been with USAA for over 55 years, starting when I was in USAF flying school and bought my first car.

I have a check right now in front of me for replacing a panel (my stupidity, don't ask!). No hassle with USAA. I emailed them a photo and faxed an estimate. Four days later, the check was in my mailbox.

all my insurance with AAA
The trailor has comprehensive coverage, less liability.
liability coverage is provided under the TV policy, when its hitched.
when its unhitched, my home policy covers the liability.

I have all mine, two houses, motorcycle, cars and personal liability with State Farm. Been with them for over 30 years. The key to my satisfaction with them is knowing the agent and they knowing me. When I call, I get good service. I've already talked to them about trailer insurance when I get one.

Having all your valueables insured by one company, has many advantages, provided that it's with the right company.

If and when you may have a problem, they will treat you like a "king."

Progressive "is" an excellent company.

But, I think you will find, that under overall circumstances, State Farm will stand out in "first place," hands down.

There are of course exceptions to everything, but many posters in this Forum, would recommend State Farm.

Having lived in the country for all but 1 1/2 years of our married lives, we have Farm Bureau Insurance that covers all of our property under an umbrella policy.

Having said that - we have had to update our insurance on Moby periodically and provide pictures and receipts to them since the trailer was not purchased new and it is difficult to get an appraisal on it. I'm working on the final tally now.... not sure I want to know how much we have invested.

I have home and autos insured with State Farm. When we finally get our trailer, I will get a price from State Farm as well as those advertising in the trailer magazines. When I recently had a "run in" with a deer, I took my car to the local auto repair place and was told by State Farm that I didn't need any estimates. They work with the auto repair place and trust them to do the best job - just go ahead and have them make the repairs and they'll send the bill to State Farm - no problem. Another fellow was in there and he had Progressive Insurance. The repair shop told him they wouldn't work with Progressive. I suggest you check carefully with the repair shops in your area to see with whom they work the best! Don't find out after the fact they'll not work with the company you've chosen.

USAA does not offer this coverage

Well, as a 45 year accident/claim free customer of USAA I expected to get coverage on my Airstream from them. Many of you have said you have it already. So, as tornado season approaches (forcast for tonight) I decided to call USAA and be sure that I had an "Agreed Value" coverage. They don't offer ANY insurance on Vintage Airstreams. Whats up? I thought many of you had that coverage. So, after going thru the Forums here I guess I will try Progressive, as the comments were good on them. ...any comments on their coverage? Any other highly regarded Companies with good reputations?

I have everything (house, cars, truck, trailer) with State Farm and have been very happy. Switched from AAA a few years ago (with whom I was not happy) and am very pleased I did. My annual premium to insure a restored 67 Caravel for $9500 is .... $81. How can you beat that? Progressive was twice as much, and others I checked with wouldn't insure it for the full value. It's not often that you get the best service and the cheapest price from the same company!

Strate Farm here too.
I try the others for a quote from time to time, always higher than SF.
The rebate checks each year are nice too.

Another life-long State Farm customer here. I spoke with a USAA representative when I joined the Army years ago about switching over, and they couldn't touch the rates I was paying for State Farm at the time.

Hey there Pahaska! Austin Texas Airstreamer here! My '06 Safari just had a run in with a low lying tree limb on Saturday at my home in Fredericksburg. I am about to call my insurance rep. Where did you wind up getting yours fixed??? I don't know whether I have to take it to a factory site or what. Any experience you can share would be a great help. thanks- Nancy - aka Luckeedux

The "only" dealer in Texas that will do perfect work for you is Roger Williams Airstream in Weatherford Texas. Their phone number is 817-5960050.

They do anything and everything, to the nth degree of perfection.

Your insurance company, depending on who they are, may allow you mileage to take it to them.

Well ......

I have to disagree with Andy here. Now that David Tidmore is no longer at Weatherford, I would not take mine there or I would stay there and watch them like a hawk. The techs there do great work if supervised. I know of two cases where awnings were improperly installed when David was not there and the trailers were really messed up.

North Texas RV in Dallas is where I would take mine. Not a dealer, but they are a recognized Airstream repair place. That is where Jim Haddaway took his 34 Limited after taking the ditch after a jacknife on a muddy road. I can't find a trace of the repair on his trailer. Another friend had his motorhome repaired there after a local dealer botched the job completely.

Billy Sims in Lubbock is another highly recommended place to go.

Camper Clinic did mine, but the only tech I would trust no longer works there.

Looking for Replacement Coveraage on new AS

I am shopping for replacement coverage for my 2008 27FB International CCD.

I got a quote from Good Sam/GMAC for replacement coverage in the first 5 years. When I called back for clarification and details of the replacement coverage and a sample copy of the policy terms and coverages, they told me that GMAC WILL NOT offer replacement value insurance for any Airstream, and would not give me a reason why.

Who out there has full replacement coverage for the first 5 years or any time period? Who is it with and what does it cost?

Thanks,
