Hello everyone,
I received a postcard from FCIS insurance company today and wondered if any one had has any experience with them?
The postcard has an AS Bambi on the cover and the ad text is geared to the AS owner.

they have a web site and agents...
RV Advantage | FCIS Insurance - RV Insurance, Motor Home Insurance, Travel Trailer Insurance
and the product offers LOOK interesting...
they have history...
Farm and City Insurance Company was formed in Iowa in 1962 to write nonstandard risk automobile insurance and was purchased by the Company in 1984. Due to changes in the nonstandard risk automobile insurance marketplace, Farm and City stopped writing direct business and implemented non-renewal procedures on all existing business in 2004; however, Farm and City has continued to participate in the pooling agreement, receiving a 1.5 percent share of all pool business. During 2007, management completed a review of the long-term strategies for Farm and City and determined that there were no identified uses for the company. Accordingly, management merged Farm and City into one of the Company’s other property and casualty insurance subsidiaries (EMCASCO Insurance Company) effective December 31, 2007. This merger resulted in Farm and City’s 1.5 percent pool participation percentage being assumed by EMCASCO Insurance Company and increased EMCASCO Insurance Company’s pool participation percentage from 12 percent to 13.5 percent. This merger had no impact on the Company’s 30 percent aggregate pool participation and did not have any impact on the goodwill that is being carried on the Company’s financial statements stemming from the acquisition of Farm and City in 1984.
and the parent company is still an i o wa biz...

EMC Insurance Group Inc. is an insurance holding company. The Company conducts operations in property and casualty insurance, and reinsurance through its subsidiaries. The Company primarily focuses on the sale of commercial lines of property and casualty insurance to small and medium-sized businesses. These products are sold through independent insurance agents who are supported by a decentralized network of branch offices. Although the Company markets its insurance products in 41 states, the majority of its business is marketed and generated in the Midwest. The Company conducts its insurance business through two business segments: Property and Casualty Insurance, and Reinsurance. The Property and Casualty Insurance segment operates through Illinois EMCASCO Insurance Company (Illinois EMCASCO), Dakota Fire Insurance Company (Dakota Fire), EMCASCO Insurance Company (EMCASCO) and EMC Underwriters, LLC. Reinsurance operations are conducted through EMC Reinsurance Company.

They had the lowest rate for me and I took the policy. No personal experience as far as claims, but at a recent rally, I heard only good things.

We got our card today. On the back they do say they have "Agreed Value" policies if that's what you mean by "vintage friendly".

I received a quote from them and they were half of what I was paying GMAC. The quote was with "replacement" value. They require a copy of the "bill of sale" which is something that I have never had requested berfore by any other carrier.

Although I have a current policy with them I suspect they maybe difficult to deal with on a claim. Just my opinon.
Several years ago I had an hail claim with GMAC and they paid without any problems.

Wanted to revive this topic because I am now considering FCIS insurance for our renovated '79 Excella. They are one of the only companies I could find that would do an "agreed value" policy (based on appraisal as opposed to NADA).
Anyone used these guys?

I've been with FCIS for three years now. They do offer agreed value coverage which was important to me as I have a 26 year old trailer in better than average condition. I had the trailer professionally appraised and that's the agreed value. I'm found them to be friendly, courteous, service oriented and reasonably priced.
I know claims are where the rubber meets the road but I fortunately haven't had that experience with them.

For anyone interested, I submitted a claim through FCIS and it was a cake walk. Very easy to deal with, check sent for repairs, no hassle whatsoever (this was for a broken window from a rock on the road while traveling).
