$2500 for the 1968 Tradewind, 6 years ago. I'm the second owner. All the papers, maintenance records, and manuals came with it. I never thought to look through them for the original invoice. If it's there I'll post it.

If I take that amount and run the numbers with the inflation calculator at http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ , it would be $27,889.81 today.

I guess one definition of a good deal is when you believe you got a low price and the seller believes he got a high price . Yours sounds good to me. I wish I could tell you the deal I got on my 89 370LE MH , but since it came from a close relative, it's not really representative of the true value. Let's just say I got a very GOOD deal!

My NV title does not show original price, however our DMV came up with a price of $170,000 for my 1990 345LE.

I learned that last month when it was time to re-new my registration the fees were WAY more than double of any other year. So I inquired thinking someone made a mistake. After being passed around to different departments their final decision was PAY this amount or NO PLATES. I was also told be glad it didn't triple. They went on to talk about the amount of people leaving our state and having to make up for losses being part of the reason for increase.

What bothered me most is not one of them could verify exactly where they got that dollar amount to determine what my fees would be??

THAT is crazy!

I suppose some Einstein believes that doubling the taxes is going to create jobs, encourage business growth, attract fixed income retirees and keep people from moving out of the state. Of course, that money you just paid (that was stolen from you) will not be spent on things that may have helped your local economy. Thank Harry and his pals.

I'm mad as heck and I don't even live there.

Good luck,

Dan

I think a new 68 corvette was almost double that , you got a heck of a deal.

Here is the window sticker for my 2005. This was the MSRP. Much cheaper with my 29% discount! It sat on the lot for a year and they were anxious to sell it.
