What is this worth?

Found this long abandoned 1964 19' Globetrotter in a field and the owner is willing to let us purchase it. Though there are no pictures of the interior just take my word that it would have to completely be redone. Can the exterior dents be pushed back out and if so what would be the best way? Are there resources to obtain the missing and broken pieces? And probably, most importantly, what would you pay for this? Or is it in reality too far gone?

Looks like at least 3 panels, one curved, would have to be replaced to make the body straight. The little trailers are desirable, and as such it would have a value. If the floor is not rotten, and the interior aluminum panels are in good shape, you may be able to do something with it. Maybe offer the seller a couple of hundred dollars for it, you couldn't lose any money at that price.
Do the golf clubs come with it?

man, this one looks better than either of my shorties! I have an 18 gooter and a 62 trotter. NO airstream is too far gone to save! Check out my Globe Trotter project. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f134...ect-27501.html I have about $2500 in this one right now, including the new rear panels and new floor. That's what i PAID for my 18 footer, though... and it had NO floor! That trotter you're looking at looks great, though... from the outside, anyway. the shorter trailers are commanding a lot more money these days, so you can't really go wrong with it.

i just noticed the creased panels. Not a big deal at all, if you're up to a little skin replacement. I learned how to do that on my 59. you can see how I did it in the early pages of this rather lengthy post:

it's not as hard as it looks. just be sure to get the right aluminum, and a good rivet gun. as for the top panel, I don't think that would be an easy replacement find. Try to push it out as best you can. Every airstream needs a dent or 2 up top!



I'd go up to $1000-1500, but them again, I'm certifiably insane! ha!

oh yeah, one more thing... make sure it has all the window frames. those are hard to come by! you can get the hardware is available at vintage trailer supply, though, and replacing the glass and rubber seals is pretty straight forward.

you gotta have a frame to work with, though!

I bought my 1977 6.0 Metre' Minuet in 2004.
It was, I am quite certain, in better condition than this one you are looking at.
I paid $2,000 for my Minuet and I had an 1,800 round trip to pick it up.
I ended up replacing ALL of the plumbing, most of the electrical, all light fixtures, axle, tires, dump valves, most of the LP lines, furnace, drapes... The list is LONG.
Luckily, the Minuets all have aluminum composite flooring. No floor rot.
Once all was said and done I had a little over $5,000 with the purchase price. When our family grew by one the Minuet was too small. I ended up selling the Minuet for quite a bit more than I had invested into it. The smaller ones are always worth more. I feel that it is mainly because you can appeal to a broader market of tow vehicles. Also, you attract more first-time buyers with the smaller ones.
Keep in mind that you may feel that your offer seems like you are "taking him to the cleaners" when you really are not.
I think of a trailer in this condition like an onion. The more you peel the layers away, the more you cry.

It's a subjective question. Another factor is how much restoration do you want to do. From the pics it looks like a few thou will get it usable again. Nice, double it, or more.

My 71 sat in a field for 20+ years and was a veritable mouse condo. I bought it a few years ago for $500 and so far have 10 times that in it. I bought a 60 Avion T 20 a few years back for $750 did a little work on it and someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse, 5K. Which , of course, went right into my Tradewind. I bought a 64 Overlander last year for $750 that was literally knee deep with packrat midden. Paid someone a couple of hundred bucks to clean it out (filled up a dump truck) and sold it 2 weeks later for 2 grand. The guy who bought it put a little more work in it, polished it and also made some money on it. So, bottom line is, it depends.

You need far more help than I do.
Unfortunately, I cannot give you the help you need. That would be one junkie trying to help another junkie quit their same addiction!
Oh well, it could be worse. I keep telling the wife I could be blowing my paycheck in a bar.
