vintage Airstream value

My folks have owned a 1965 26' Landcruiser for over 30 years. My dad passed away suddenly a few weeks ago and we now need to start the process of selling this beloved trailer. It was Dad's baby and has been meticulously maintained through the years. It was modified to remove the front couch/double bed to provide a dining/seating area at the front of the trailer. I'm trying to help my Mom determine a fair value for the trailer. Where do we start?

Sorry to hear of your loss...

This Price vs Condition website may help you determine the value.

It's probably a Land Yacht "Cruiser" though...Landcruiser is not a model name that Airstream used, but then there weren't 'Crusiers' in '65 either...sure it's not a '50-something model? That's when the name Cruiser was used...

To help determine the correst model/year, check out the archives or post a picture and we'll help you figure it out.

Check the posts on Ebay or contact the Airstream dealers in the area. Bill Thomas in St. louis MO will give you a pretty good idea. You can advertise for free in the local Wis or Northern IL WBCCI newsletters. I will give you their email if you desire. Sorry to hear about your father. Sure there is not someone in the family which might not like to carry on the camping tradition?

bobspride,

I am truly sorry for your loss. I can imagine what you are going through, believe me. I say keep the trailer, if you are able to. Take your kids, if you have any, out with it so they can learn to appreciate rv'ing as much as your father did.

Thanks

Thanks for all your kind words and for the info that has been provided. I will double check on the model and once we get that pinned down will proceed to some of the sites folks have mentioned to see about the value. Again, we so appreciate the help. I'll keep posting as the process continues.

Serial number

There is a serial number attached to a metal plaque on your trailer. Take a look at Airstream.com's FAQ page and you may be able to confirm the trailers identity. Or else ask back on this thread and let some experienced heads help you decode it.

It may be in better actual condition if it was stored inside. Your father sounds like he'd have kept after window seals, etc. Dads are tough to lose -- I lost mine four years ago and have come up with many, many questions as I go over his old photo albums, etc. My heart goes out to your family!
