Value of 1973 Tradewind Land Yacht please?
Hi and thanks for replying to the ad.
The trailer is a 1973 Airstream Land Yacht model, 25’ long overall, e.g. including tongue and rear bumper. Weight is 4,600 lbs.
The trailer will need some plumbing work (rear, including toilet connection), tambours, upholstery covering, carpet and curtains to suit. The trailer has been in the family for 30 years – we are the second owners. Last used in ’03 and stored at our home since then. Fridge (propane and electric) and stove operational, propane water heater tank was rebuilt in ’96. K-H brakes checked and bearings packed in ’03. New shower faucet ’03. All vents, windows operational. HD stabilizing hitch, owner’s and service manual included.
$3,500.00 OBO. Please reply by email if you are interested.
Bill

This trailer is for sale about 60 miles from me. I mean to go have a look at it tomorrow Sunday March 8.
I know to look for rotten floor, bent frame, collapsed axles, non working appliances, leaks, dents. Not sure what else to look for or ask about.
And based on the info available what would the value be?

I would say the axles are bad so figure on that one right away.
The price is in range, shorter trailers are usually worth more than the longer ones.
BTW none of your pictures links in the first post work.

Sorry about that. The pictures were sent to me in an email and I just cut and pasted the whole email.
I don't know if I can do a better job of the pictures as I am on dialup and I don't know how to post pictures properly.

Just found out the trailer sold Saturday morning after being advertised Friday. Do not know what he got for it but I would guess at or close to the $3500 asking price.
