I just bought a 24' Argosy and am attempting to get it insured. For some reason, the agent wants the sticker price of the camper when it was new. Their book only goes back to 1978.
My guess is this guy is clueless when it comes to vintage. Also have it insured for "agreed value". You might need to get it appraised by someone the insurance company will accept.

This question gets kicked around from time to time and was discussed in the thread below.
My home/auto agent asked me the same question - and then found the answer for me. I forget the sticker price, but it was greater than I expected. All in all, I have no idea what they wanted this info for. It is not the price it is insured for - and is not the price that they would give me if she were to be "totaled".
I took some of the advice from this forum and found an agent (Progressive) who offered "agreed value" for my trailer. I needed documentation to show the value via a bill of sale (for trailers purchased within 2 yrs) or an appraisal. I did get the run-around from Progressive. It seems not all agents/states allow for the agreed value and although FL does, two calls to the local rep offered two differing opinions - neither positive. I finally called Progressive direct and got coverage. Their road hazard is also a good value, IMO. I do not have a bill of sale, but got a copy of the price paid at my tax collector/vehicle tag office. I hope this will suffice. I called the few local RV sales businesses and could not find ONE that would provide a written appraisal. I am not ready to travel 200 miles to an AS dealer.
Wishing you luck.
