Question Spartan 23' What's it worth?

Has anyone taken a look at the Spartan in the classified section?
I contacted the owner and he sent me pics. I would love to restore one of these jewels but I feel like he is asking a bit much for the trailer. Theres no guarantee this thing will even roll. Looks to have been sitting for a very long time. It would have to make a 911 mile trip to home.

Can someone with some experiance give me a clue on what a resonable offer would be for this trailer?

Or give me some info on things to look for on something that has been sitting for this long?

Has anyone made a long distance purchase on a trailer? Tips anyone?

Spartan Here

Don't know what he's asking, but there is one sitting 9 miles from me that looks to be around 23'. The guy wants $1000.00. I took a quick look at it a few weeks ago. It's rough but has good skin overall. No Title.
If you like I can take some photos and post them.

It's snowing here today, supposed to clear up over the weekend; I'll try to get some photos then.

THanks! No big hurry just when you get a chance and the weather is ok. No need for a special trip.

Here's a few shots of the Spartan. It looks to be about 23'. The inside is there but there is serious water damage, it would need to be totally redone. the floor (at least the part I walked on) seems solid. The Hitch doesn't look like it has a latch to hold it on the ball, but I didn't study it really well. The mud was too deep to get on my knees. The most skin damage is on the street side front corner, the dark marks look like weeds or branches were rubbing on the skin. I could not find a VIN # plate. And I know that there is not a title, but the guy says you can get a salvage title.

Unless you are prepared to do some work on site. I would recommend that you plan on loading it on a trailer to take it home. I'll send all the pictures I have to your email the first chance I get.

Looks like a Spartan Manor 25. They were produced in that body style from 1946 thru 1950/1951. After that, they lost their great Art Deco curves and became a little more boxy. IMHO, the early Spartans were the most sensual looking!!!

These trailers had a full birch interior with compound curves at the rear sides (mahogany on the '46) and are highly sought after in restoration circles. I have my eye on one as we speak. It has a much nicer exterior and the interior is complete but of course, needs restoration.

Considering the asking price for the '46 that I'm looking at, the one in the photos (depending on the interior condition) should bring $1500-3000. It is missing the front wrap windows (now filled in with aluminum) and the front observation window too

This information belongs where people expect to see it: in the Classified section. Look up top and you will see the big link to it, and you can use the same username and password that you created to get in here.
