So why do you suppose this one didn't sell?

$4500 for a 1953 Flying Cloud? Seems like a fair deal on a very restorable trailer to me...but it had -0- bidders! I've certainly seen worse go for more ~

Seems that this one would have gone for much more a couple of months ago ~

Honestly, I think it's a combination of the economy, everyone tied up in the elections, and the price of fuel. No one wants to spend any money, and especially if it's going to be a costly "project".

I agree - a sign of the times. But even still, that just makes it a buyers market for some dontcha think?

I've been tracking the mid-sized units on e-Bay for a number of years.
My take on this is that the starting price was too high for the year. I've watched plenty of rigs start at $1000, with reserve, and just take off.
Timing could have been better as well. Relisting in March when the weather is more agreeable for outside projects in the majority of the country could have made it more desirable.

Tom.

Look at the total cost

This one was for sale in Dallas a few months ago. The owner said he would take $4500 for it. As much as I wanted it....when all the costs were added in to fix major obvious problems plus the normal planned upon fixes and the always present "surprises" it was cheaper to find one already ready to go and freshly updated.
