Should I buy this? Airstream

Hello All, Is this a fair price?
This person wants $3500.00 for this Airstream:
What do you think -- pictures take about a 30 seconds to load.
Click on blue line to see pictures
New Page 1
The BAD :
Hot water tank needs to be replaced.
Missing 1 window screen
Upholstery is 40 years old
needs new carpet
Fridge replaced with electric one
propane tanks are ugly and rusty (should be replaced or painted.)
To get a trailer to a mirror finish requires lots and lots of polishing.

The Good:
New tires
New brakes.
New wheel bearings
( most work done locally at Jims Rv)
Air-conditioner checked and charged ( super cold air )
new wheel chocks and tire covers
New Deep cycle Gel battery Still under warranty
New door lock from Out of Doors mart O.E.M style
Keys to all compartments

The Trailer needs a good cleaning my son and I have camped in it. but only over weekends.
The furnace and stove work good. We stayed in it for three rainy days no leaks to be found. The floors are all solid the The toilet works. The glass is all in good shape. the body has numerous small dings consistent with it age.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

I would offer $2,500 and see what they say, if they balk then split the difference.

I think these are somewhat rare, this size safari with double axels and this bed configuration…. The price seems fair, I’d buy it in a hart beat.

The price seems about right. It looks to be in fair to very good condition from the pics that I can see cosmetically. Airstreams of this size are the hardest to find they are out there but don't last long. Be aware that at some point you will have to replace your axles but all AS of this age would need them just the nature of the beast. You also if you didn't know it only have one holding tank for waste. Any As older then 1974 did not have them. This in it self is not the end of the world but you will have empty it more often. I would say go for it before someone else buys it out from under you. It is in good enough condition to be worth $3500. Most sellers will expect to get offers somewhat lower then asking price. If you were able to get it for $3000 you would have yourself a deal.

Almost always sunny here unless there is a hurricane bearing down on you. And then it's time to hook up the burb and roll. So far I've been very lucky.

Just Do It!

I'd have to echo everybody above! HECK YA! I'd buy it for that price... that size, the condition it looks to be in... to me it's a no brainer! Of course I've only been doing this a year so I suppose I should say "in my humble opinion"... I spent a little more for our Tradewind and I still feel like I got a great trailer!
Good luck!

One idea might be to take it over to Jims RV and get them to inspect it. I'm wondering if it has tail sag or separation. I'm not even sure of those problems occurred with that size.

Just a thought. You say Jims is local. If that's Jim May RV in Findlay, OH, he is an Airstream dealer and knows those trailers inside out. You might as well find out what really is up with it, then you can add up what you'll need to have done and see a bit closer what the real cost of it will be.

I love the interior, looks real good!
