Question Salvage value

Whats the scrap value of a 22' airstream without the frame? I have found a trailer that has been hit by a truck in the rear. The fella that owns it thinks it is totaled but .... I'm gonna use it for a comedy TV show prop and build a barn on the back. Airstream Lives Forever! anyone know what HE could scrap it for, he only wants the frame??

I'd say it's worth what he is asking, or what someone is willing to pay.

Not to be curt, but I don't think there is any way other than that to place a value on it. The weight can only be determined after it has been stripped, if any of the panels are good and someone needs them it would produce a different value, if he sells off the parts that are no longer available that's another value. Who knows? Shoot him an offer that you are comfortable with and see what happens. After you're done with it, sell it off again.

Salvage Value

Thanks for your input. I am now offering him that I take the trailer out from under at my Blacksmith shop, that should knock the price down and save him the dirty work. Think $450 will be my top $

just curious...... have you read any of the threads here as to what is involved to lifting the body off the frame? use the google search here for "frame off restoration"
