"new" 2007 27' ocean breeze

Found a "new" 27' ocean breeze that was owned by a dealer that closed. Subsequently the trailer was purchased back by Airstream and resold to a different dealer. (or so I am told)
It has never been used (other than shown by dealers) (and likely sitting outside for 2 years).
We were really looking for a 25' but the price I was offered this one was 50k and that is close to what most 25's cost.
Other than the expense of the tow vehicle (I haven't figured that yet, as I currently own a 2007 Tundra), any down side to the 27' vs the 25? We are a family of four (ages 8 and 10). This is more money than I wanted to spend so I am getting cold feet.
Have yet to actually see it, but advertised as new.
We love the Ocean Breeze interior but it seemed to pricey for me. However looking at 2008-2009 flying clouds at 25' it is difficult where I live to go much lower than 48. Thanks for advice.
Trying to decide if this is a great deal or should I be patient and hopefully find a lightly used 25' in the future.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Thank goodness it isn't on the east coast or I'd be severely tempted. I fulltime in a 25 FB SE - and for a family of four - with kids on the cusp of being teenagers, you will want the extra 2 feet. The pantry and closet space alond will be a godsend. Parking a 27 vs a 25 isn't a big deal. Finding big enough gas stations may be, so considering a diesel vehicle and using truck stops may be your choice.

This unit has awnings all the way around, an extra $2000 by itself.

Now the 2010's should be coming out shorty... so get in writing that you'll still have a factory warranty for 2 years from your purchase.

Look at the unit. There may be a few filoform issues (make them throw in a can of the spray that stops it cold - it works.) IMHO, it actually anodyzes the little white lines which stops it. The new clearcoat is put on at the factory, so the cut edges are raw aluminum. If they are treated immediately, no filoform. Why they just don't do it at the factory?

Do check the floor perimeter carefully - even a new unit can have a leak - and in a wet climate, minor amounts of water between the inside and outside shells could damage the floor. The rear window is a particular place of interest.

Of course with an asking price of 50K, you could always try a slightly lower offer. But it is priced aggressively against a new 2009 one (check www.colonialairstream.com)

There's a 2007 leftover 25' International SS (Sleep Six) Ocean Breeze still available at DJ RV Center in Danville, PA for $47,995.00 and they might come down more. Although PA to Oregon would be a HAUL!

I love the Ocean Breeze interior.

Thanks for the feedback. Are there any other downsides to getting the 27,or problems to look for in a 2007?
The dealer said it would come w/ the standard warranty.
I don't think I would ever full time. It is really for family camping for the next 10years than hopefully at least 10 more after the kids are off to college.
I've always been a very conservative person and this would be my first ("crazy") purchase of a large depreciating asset. Thanks for any words of experience. Any regrets?

Cyafishin,
Do you know which floor plan the 27' is? As for problems I would look for filiform corrosion on the outside skin of the trailer. You can get an idea of what it is and how wide spread it is in this thread...

Corrosion problems with new Airstreams

Other than that I cannot think of any other problems inherent in a 2007 Airstream. Just look real carefully for leaks and soft spots in the floor for indications of leaks.

And here is a link to the pre-purchase inspection checklist that may be helpful to you...

Trailer Inspection Checklist

As for regrets, I've had a few, but not when it came to the purchase of our '06 or '87 Airstreams.
