Welcome to the Forums. If you are talking about a recent model Airstream. The Safari is the base model, and the International and Classic are the up end models. You don't mention what vintage Airstream you are interested in. Also, sometimes you might find a Safari better equiped than an International. One decision you need to make is whether you want the panoramic windows or not. Some people love them, some don't. Many of the recent vintage Internationals and Classics have them.

In your stated length range the is only one recent model, the 28'. There is a 25' and a 31'. I would suggest going to an Airstream dealer and walk through the different models. That will give you a much better idea of what you would want.

You can go to airstream.com (the Company Website) and view the different models and floorplans. They are in the process of revamping the website. You may not find it totally current.

You also don't mention whether or not you are an experienced RVer and/or trailer tower. Your trailer choice may impact your tow vehicle (TV) needs.

Good luck in your search. If you have any more questions, just ask.

In that case, the models are designated according to trim level and construction. The Classic is the most heavily constructed, and the most expensive. If you are looking for weight, a 28 foot classic would be the biggest you could tow, and probably it would be difficult.
The Safari line is the lightest constructed, and the cheapest to purchase.

Sounds like you want to look at the 28' or 30' Classic, especially if you want the queen bed. They put a queen in the 25' but that's pretty recent. and pretty tight. Look on the Colonial Airstream website. There you'll find pictures of all the models and floor plans. Except for the new front bedroom models the floor plans have been pretty consistant for the last 20 years.

bought

Thanks everyone, we bought a '99', 28ft. classic excella. WE would have liked a 26 but they must be really scarce. We ended up with twin beds but still have the short wardrobes over the bed. It needs some work but we are pleased. We will travel with mostly empty tanks as we learned with the motorhome we like to plug in.
Also we will not load it down like we did the motorhome and have things we never used.
We know we are border line on weight but have a few ideas to help with that. WE will be weighing it at the truck stop before we head off for 3 months this summer. We hope to get off for a few days to try it out and see what else we need to do.
Husband has light weight wood floor almost in. We are working on odor from mildew storage bins and we think the seals were old and bins leaking.

Congratulations Nancy. I am sure you will like the extra room. Would love to see the new floor and AS when its ready. It didn't take you long at all to find your new unit and start personalizing it. 3 month trip together sounds wonderful.
