Curious about value of a 2014 unit

Hello everyone,

We are hunting our first AS. We have found a used 2014 25FB queen flying cloud in excellent condition. It has 50 amp service and a 2nd A/C along with leather. Can anyone provide some feedback on the price? We have negotiated down to $53500 total except for taxes. When compare to NADA and comparable units it seems like a decent deal but curious of everyone's opinion.

Thanks in advance!

That sounds like a very good deal. I would place that value on a 2013. So 2014 with 50 amp and second air with ultra leather is a good value.

Thanks for the quick reply. We are very excited to finally get into an AS. We've been looking for about a year. Pricing a used AS is nuts!

I here you. You cannot use NADA. Even insurance value are way off. Insurance companies have no idea either. You just have to use your own judgement.

I just spent $60k for a used 2015 after a long search for a relatively new unit. It pays to spend the time to understand the market to know a deal when it comes by.

Make sure the floors are dry and the trailer is leak free. Be aware that original Goodyear Marathons on a 2014 may be 3 year old tires - research the tire threads. The brakes should be inspected and the axle bearings should be serviced. Grease absorbs moisture when sitting in a damp climate. The batteries may be close to end of life depending on how they were used. None of this is expensive to address. Just be aware so you are not hit with an unexpected repair. Sounds like you have found a good buy. Enjoy the smiles. Pat

PKI thanks for the insight will definitely check that stuff out. I have been reading about the tires and possibly going to an LT type tire instead of the Marathons.

The bearings should be "maintenance free" sealed bearings in '14. Probably OK there.

I found a 25' International signature for 58,500 in Coeur' d Alene Idaho Craigslist. A 30' in Philadelphia Pa. is for sale 70k... A 28' Flying Cloud for 64k in Eugene Or. Sounds like you did your home work Griner3.. streaminwild

Hey guys..well we went and looked at it and found that all the vinyl flooring has been replaced. We basically walked away. The dealership was apologetic and acted as if they were not aware.

They called me and said they wanted to make it right and would offer us an identical brand new unit and when I figured the math the discount is 22.6%. From what I have read that is excellent. Any feedback on it is appreciated.

Take the dealer offer but be sure the retail price is not inflated with BS dealer add on items like fabric protector etc. Good luck, that's a good offer if it checks out.

I did just shy of 22% on my factory order back last April (delivered in July) so your doing better but be aware it will be a model year old in June when the 2017's hit the lots.

Good to know. How difficult did u find it to get to 22% discount? On the forums I find people say 15-18% is pretty normal?

It was a combination of circumstances, dealer willingness & the 2016 price increase. I negotiated a locked in price on my order for the 2016. The price went up $3k & they honored the contract price. BTW, the dealer was very gracious and didn't even mention it at closing.

If it's in your budget take the deal & you also get the two year warranty plus free coach net roadside service for a year or two.
